About This Spot

Stepping into Pacific Market feels like entering a warm, thoughtfully curated neighborhood hub where the rhythm is unhurried and the focus is firmly on quality and connection. Nestled in the heart of Sebastopol, this supermarket carries an inviting intimacy that’s rare in grocery stores—where the buzz is less about rushing through aisles and more about savoring the small discoveries along the way.

The atmosphere here balances between the familiar and the delightful, with a sense of genuine care flowing through every corner. Fresh produce catches your eye not just for its vibrant color but for the unspoken promise of freshness. There’s a lively yet relaxed beat as locals browse bulk bins filled with thoughtfully sourced essentials, while the deli invites quiet moments of anticipation—sandwiches and salads crafted with a palpable passion that resonates beyond the counter.

It’s clear that this isn’t a place for bargain hunting but for those who appreciate a curated selection and attentive service that feels personal. The staff’s warmth and knowledge create a sense of belonging, as if you’ve wandered into a well-loved community kitchen rather than a commercial grocery store. Long-standing locals mingle effortlessly with first-time visitors, sharing smiles and shopping tips that make the experience feel like part of the local fabric.

In many ways, Pacific Market is a little world unto itself—a crossroad where quality ingredients meet storytelling and where the simple act of choosing your groceries becomes a quietly joyful exploration. Whether you’re seeking that special ingredient or just stopping by to pick up something fresh for the table, the overall sense is one of care and connection that reflects the spirit of Sebastopol itself.

Pacific market is a good place to go if you’re looking for that specialty item and require only the best produce. If you’re looking for a Bargain stick to the large chain grocery stores, but if you’re looking for a good service and great selection, this is where you will find it.

The cleanest and best grocery/deli choice in all of Sebastopol (all of the area around for that matter). Vasu and all the employees are amazingly friendly and helpful and stocked with fresh vegetables, fish, meats and more. Don’t take my word for it, stop in for yourself, you’ll be hooked to!

Great salad bar! The scones I brought home were moldy. I'll review my review after I see how they handle the request for a return or exchange.

Without doubt one of the special places that makes Sebastopol such a great place to live. Absolutely love this place must have come here the first day I checked this town out 25 years ago. And now my 25-year-old son goes there to shop and knows everybody. Absolutely love this little gem everything is high quality the deli the meat section the customer service. Wonderful place to shop.

If Whole Foods and a small-town circus had a love child, it would be Pacific Market in Sebastopol. Walking in feels like stepping into a foodie theme park where avocados are worshipped like royalty and the bulk bins whisper, “fill me with quinoa, you beautiful human.” The deli section? Life-changing. I’ve seen people cry tears of joy over their sandwiches — real tears, not the fake onion-cutting kind. And the hot bar? It’s like Thanksgiving every day, except you don’t have to deal with your weird uncle who thinks gravy is a beverage. But the real magic is in the customers. Only here can you spot a retired hippie in Birkenstocks debating organic almond butter choices while a teenager in pajama pants buys sushi and an energy drink like it’s a perfectly normal combination. Spoiler: it is normal here. Pacific Market is basically the Sebastopol town square disguised as a grocery store. Need kombucha on tap? They got it. Need artisan bread that costs more than your first car payment? Yup. Need a place to people-watch and silently judge kale chip enthusiasts? Welcome home, friend. ⸻ Want me to crank this up even more — like full-on snarky satire of Sebastopol culture?

Excellent food choices, good service, lots or organics, a bit pricey by local standards.
